Ponder
“The quality of our life will improve if we spend sometime pondering over life’s questions. In every thoughtful pause, brighter gleams of wisdom will flash”~ By Poet As I sat alone on the river bank, I saw the blue sky dotted with white clouds. The sun was in its last lap of race. The slanting beams gleamed in crystal glow. This sight invited my mind to wander. I began pondering over the evening of my life~ The paths I walked, the roads I trod The victories and defeats of life. They invaded my mind like an insurgent army. The gleaming flashes of the sinking sun, Drew a montage of diffused memories. Discordant thoughts came rushing in. I chanced to think of Time and the River The twin forces making a unique pair; Unable to get back from whence they came. They rush forward ever and anon. Isn’t our life too like a flowing river Speeding to some unknown destination? I thought, life here is only a hiatus. What’s the purpose of our life? What should be our priorities? Seated in the lap of solitude, My mind began to ponder in silence. The muffled murmur of the river in flow, Didn’t disturb my stream of thought. I was on a piggyback ride on stoic thoughts. I sat in silence sage like, pondering deep, On the meaning and purpose of life. Everything around fell silent and still And shadows started to form around. Didn’t sense the passage of time, Until a dark shroud wrapped me all too sudden.
