Two Past Four
I hurriedly boarded the train, Or as hurriedly as I possibly could, The red blossoms holding onto my hand, As I held onto time, to slow its haste. I softened my grip, to let them breathe, As I caught my breath in the summer noon, The cool breeze consoled me, as if it knew, Knew that my winter came and waited. Many fields passed, many trees overtook, When I saw an empty house among them, By the river, among the paddy, it bloomed, She always wanted a house such to stay, I thought, but there wasn't much now to say. As the train rattled across the river, I looked at my watch, it was two past four, My grip on the door tightened, As if to make the train run faster, But I knew it didn't at all matter. "Those red flowers are lovely, Wish I could smell them,  They would be such a charm!" I remember her words, as the train halted, I ran again, every second passed me by, The wind caught my damp eyes, they burnt, But I squinted and saw my lovely door, I stopped by trying to hold my soul, I slowly walked inside, my heart pounding, Not from the running, but from fear, There she was, a calm expression on her face, The doctor stepped closer," two past four."
