God's Forgiveness
A teenage boy outside the door, Begging for nickel and dime. People pass by, shake their heads, He says, "Thank you for your time." So cold, so alone, His clothes tattered and torn. He looks up, curses God, And the day he was born. An old man passes by, He hears the boy's harsh voice. He looks at him with love in his eyes, And says, "There is a better choice." The boy glances up, turns his head, The old man he tries to ignore. "Why don't you try to love God instead?" The boy asks, "What for?" The old man looks at him, And immediately replies: "Because God loves you." And as he walks away, he cries. The boy hangs his head in thought, "Why would God love me?" He then hears a gentle voice, "Because you're my child, you see." Amidst his own confusion, The boy takes a stand. God speaks to him once more, And says, "Child, take my hand." The boy filled with shame, Says, "Please forgive what I said." God's forgiveness was put in place, As soon as the boy bowed his head.
