A Dog they Named him Rusty
We had dogs upon the farm to help muster up the stock There were hereford cattle and sheep that tend to flock The two dogs I best recall were given names that were based upon their colour One was mostly reddish with some patches of yellow and white the other tends toward a brownish hue and thus a little duller The first of these dogs his given name was Rusty but he always was called Ginger He was a bad tempered Kelpie who bit us several times cousins came to stay, one or two of them, also he did injure The other kelpie to the farm he came later on had a friendly temperament he was colour brown His given name was Tanner he was the younger dog so Ginger, in control always wore the crown Another dog then joined the motley crew a seventh birthday present for my sister Couldn't muster cattle, couldn't muster sheep Rags was just a pet, sex was that of mister Maternal grandparents owned a dog a very nasty biting piece of work With the given name of Joker, not much jest in this tiny Silky terrier so revered they seemed to think that he could talk My niece she decided she would get a dog called him Dash well he lived up to his name in no uncertain way Would dash around the house up and over furniture, loudly barking in my opinion that dog had far too much to say Now if you pose a question have i ever owned a dog Yes ! Only one His name was Ricky In nineteen seventy five he was bitten by a snake tears welling, made both of my eyes feel rather icky All my "pets' today are found out in nature have the freedom to run walk hop fly swim climb or do whatever I don't have to feed them groom them remove their sticky poo love them just the same. Don't you think I'm being rather clever ??
