Poster children
You’ve lived a life of all lives your diamonds silhouette their shine onto mine we all have the same time yet your brightness just eclipses mine. The things you’ve done, do you feel you’ve won or did you spend your life thinking they were guaranteed? Either sound like a luxury I can tell myself, that it was on your shelf, from your very first breath that you would make a name still the feeling is the same: you’re the poster children, all that you have is so far out of my reach. You’re the poster children, your life would have hung up on my wall does that phase you, at all? Your life has been fuelled by exorbitance and gold success is no choice, it’s what you’ve been sold when you look at me, what is it you see A lost cause who’ll never be found? Is it pity you feel, as I don’t fit the bill I’m the outcast to your white pickett fence town. Everything you touch turns to gold you’re so charming, you’re so bold when you reach your final days, sat up in your palace with so much to say, the dynasty will sit around your throne applauding all that you have grown; poster children have their own. To know your worth, just a few days on earth that’s something that I’ll just never know. You’re the poster children, your life stays hung up on my wall. Will the poster ever fall?
