We were still enjoying life but somehow that didn't last. Teenage years approached, we begin to be mistreated, Broken promises filled with sad emotions for whatever reason. We thought we could handle it but it was hurting mentally. No one would ever listen; all they can say is be all you can be. What did that mean? No one could tell us. As we begin to age, attitudes turned into disgust. From that point on, nothing was right. You just keep looking in the mirror at your reflection, wanting to fight. To know that it was a barricade of self-pity and you're trying to get out, Walls are closing in, leaving you with doubts. You're an adult now and those memories still linger, Trying to find your career path and putting a ring on someone finger. So you find the person who you thought made you happy, Until you serve your country and someone else is the daddy. Hard lesson to swallow, you can't digest. You close off your mind in order to forget. The pain is so unbearable you put up a wall Against family and friends as you continue to fall. So life at the moment seems so majestic, Until you find happiness again to make life more realistic.
