Grandma's Kitchen
On Sunday grandma cooked a huge delicious family meal, and her kitchen had so many wonderful smells. On Monday, I often had slept over and at breakfast, I helped her cook . . . eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. On Tuesday, me and mom stopped by to help bake cookies, peanut butter and chocolate chip- I licked her old bowl clean. On Wednesday, grandma took care of me for the evening, we would sit in that old kitchen with her cat and kittens in a basket. On Thursday, grandma called she had made a big stew, come she said, so we did . . . me and dad soaked bread in the gravy. On Friday, grandma was having trouble with her recipe so she called, mom and me went but I think it was just an excuse to see us again. On Saturday, mom said lets surprise grandma with a meal already made, take out, and she was horrified, lol. I am not sure she ever got over that.
