A Love Not Meant To Be
Dedicated to Guy Loranger, wherever he may be A love not meant to be is kept alive by one who still recalls one magic night: when, a budding rose, she began to thrive, for a boy just nineteen had put his sight on her, and Cinderella she became. He ravished her with his enticing gaze. Then long sweet kisses lit her soul aflame! Theirs was a night she’d remember always, but much too soon, her beautiful new prince returned to French Quebec, and they lost touch with one another; she’s not seen him since, yet no one else had made her feel so much! The phone calls stopped, and she went far away to college and was wed. Four years had passed. One day he called. Whatever could she say when life for her had been transformed so fast? He’d looked her up; but it was bittersweet because she held her firstborn on her knee. Romance she writes of now cannot compete with how she felt back then. That girl was me.
