Raising her head, we made contact. I looked at her, and I saw myself. Not wanting to break line of sight, she couldn’t help herself, and I was powerless. This unspoken feeling, two hearts that needed mending. Sadly, it wasn’t our time. The life that could’ve been, with her by my side. Our special day could’ve been paradise. Unable to suppress tears of joy, petals of cherry blossoms bloomed in celebration. Blue fire scorching the privileged garden. Instead, I woke up knowing that she flew away. Taken away from me, forces beyond my comprehension. Cruel and unfair, I hope she’s safe, prosperous, and healthy. I wonder if she’s still alive.
