And as is the ugly truth, Lies sure the truth outweigh, (A man of white or gray lies Makes nary a rare bird), And so, a liar takes to the highway-- What if one more lie is unfurled, So how the lies smoothly sail In a life of lies full of youth Living on an endless bail. But then lies as they are, posing upright Among them fight As to which one is more upright, Truth nowhere on any side, Each lie feeling, its fight’s always fair! Such as be a liar’s dare. My word whatso says does weigh, So how poets pen their poems So how like pinch of salt spread lies-- A product of poetic imagination Liberally pen-painted, Plenty shades of gray oriented. Who’s on the part of truth? A real painful tooth. Poets have their licence If or not things make sense. Maybe, there’s a grain of truth In any false narrative, So thinking, some get friendly with loud lies. Now, if a fight breaks out, Who, and what would win? What’s north, what’s south, east or west, Only on Earth the truth comes to rest, There’s up nor down outside of Earth, Sun may in east rise upon Earth Yet, does it rise or set at all? So is a straight line In a curvy-linear world Truth gets easily whirled. In a relative world of Einstein Where’s an absolute line? The wise talk of ‘practical’ truth, Amidst Supreme or Ultimate In perennial youth. So, let some pinch of lies Give truth a telling punch, Wisdom lies in one being worldly wise, In just mouthful of lies to munch. ________________________ Musings | 12.01.2026 | lies, truth, free verse
