Heil Who?
His legions marched through Gaul; how crazy could he be? He ordered them to kill Neptune, spears into the sea They were loyal to a madman, but blind loyalty is a sin. And Caligula kept ruling, until an assassin did him in. Hitler's doctor gave him a medicine with amphetamine Withdrawal symptoms came, no way to get his body clean Another drug was oxycodone, an addictive opioid. A third pill gave Hitler jaundice, you think he'd be annoyed But Hitler liked the doctor, fired another doc who called foul Continued wars and genocides, till he threw in the towel He did dumb tactical things, generals were ignored. But Nazis fought to the end, for this man they adored. Stalin killed his own Army officers, so Russian power faded. He saw disloyalty everywhere, while the Wehrmacht invaded. Eventually Russia won, but at such a terrible cost: Twenty-seven million Rus soldiers dead, before the Nazis lost. Mao said all Chinese farms must be run by the state In four years 45 million starved, but his ego did not deflate. He decided cities were corrupt, ordered folk to the countryside They had no survival skills, so 20 million died. Mao's "Red Book" sells millions every year. T-shirts sell too, look who men revere they ignore millions of deaths, a rule almost mystic Is one death a tragedy, but many a statistic? Russia puts up Stalin statues, some places Nazis still won't fade If mass murder doesn't matter, does stupidity made the grade? If dead could speak, there'd be a volcano under our feet If men can't learn from the past, it is doomed to repeat.
