Christmas Nostalgia
“As time goes on, new memories are made; nostalgia does not let the best ones fade.” _by Poet My memories of Christmas, long ago, come from our dear, old-fashioned scene; extended family, all living close, from young to old, and in between. All came to join- no traveling from far. Those days, most families lived near; were free to celebrate with care and joy- and were available each year. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins too, would join us all at Christmas time, and every holiday that came along; that unity was strong and prime. But times are different these modern days, and now, some live quite far away, and travel time can take up many hours; needs planning more than just one day. Our family's now scattered here and there- up North, down South, Hawaii too. Back then, our Hudson Valley and the Bronx helped lifetime closeness follow-through. The good old days were certainly the best to form nostalgia kept as gold, where families shared love on Christmas day- with everyone, both young and old.
