Should’ve sourced for you
You had a smile so wide the first time I called your name it was like I’d called you mine would happen so fast, never too last turns out what’s in is in the past. Just one or two times, it was in my mind what I could’ve said and what I wanted you to find. I found your page then, hoping to gauge when, there was not a trace nor a single clue I said your name proud and probably too loud they said maybe you’d come around he asked you that, but what’s the truth wanted to climb up to the roof then after that, when I walked by you I was so tense and full of fear at what you might have said I felt I had no choice but to put it to bed. I should’ve spoken more to you I should’ve sourced for you should’ve fought more for what this could be for just us two every damn time, your eyes locked with mine, we had to swallow those tears of our teenage blues you are the one thing, I missed having in my mind, every day and every damn night now it’s too late, to even tempt fate you’ll never be the prize that I can call mine you flew the nest like it was best I never saw your treasured chest; I’ll just move on, like from the rest. You could’ve been my weekend plans you wore the crown, you were the man just one night, all it would take could’ve kept it quiet for just your sake I saw the pictures of you out quickly regretted my many shouts of my interest to your friends what did they say throughout that night, “he’s obsessed, it’s not quite right” or do they mourn what could’ve been have you found that other thing that makes you smile so very wide is it a secret you want kept inside? I’ll never speak to you again we’re now strangers, not even friends now and then I wonder if I should just throw these aged fears of mine pick up the phone, see if you’re fine but do you feel like too much time has passed us by to even try and re-ignite a once lit flame even after all this time, I’d let it burn me just the same.
