Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required In the Zoo Garden At creation’s dawn Men were at peace Before sin was born The lake waters rippled Towards the edge of time While songbirds sang songs Of divinely written rhyme Temples built white To shine in the sun Plants lived forever without night Fruit and flowers flowering each one The animals spoke a language Understood by man And pure rain flowed softly Out of God’s hand Yet on the other side of this right Was the face of error’s wrong Sin’s sad ugly birthchild Without peace and without song And men left the Zoo Garden Never really there at all Descending into error’s wonderland Beginning the long downfall Really it was no fall at all Rather a steady upward rise From darkness and ignorance Back to Paradise as the prize Millenniums of killing, millenniums of despair Catastrophes, famine, decay and pain Sadness, misery no loving care Millions and millions gone insane And slowly men rose upwards again Through black hopeless death Back into the Zoo Garden To re-breathe God’s breath The Garden a creation in the mind of men An artistic creation of man Not really existing before But always just seemingly at hand When men reached the voices of angels Their struggle was soon forgotten Passing their smile filled days Lost in love songs sung with their begotten
