DOWN THE ROAD
From afar, I saw the glary, eerie road, Its path alive with men and women — Each from different walks of life, Each with burdens on their heads — Crushed by the weight of living. Down the road, all chase a treasure, Desperate, daring, lost in pressure. No goodbyes when comrades fall — Just silence… as the ruthless march on. The road is open — free for all. No need for pardon, I tread my path. Some boast they know the way. Me? I know the way, But still… I can’t see the way. Down this road, there are no rules — Only survival writes the code. Tangled in webs of pain and pride, Many choose silence Just to escape the noise inside. And so down the road — This is my humble prayer: Grant me courage, O Lord, For I am Thy servant. Ingrain in me strength for the battle ahead, That I may crush the enemies within and without, That I may stand before the storm, And not be moved — When the road we walk Reaches its end.
