Nobody Cares.
The cries ring through the house From one end to the other They're heard from next door— Possibly even down the road But people are ignorant, And nobody cares The sounds of shattering glass Reverberates within my brain Trying to process it all I try to tell someone But people are ignorant, And nobody cares You'd think they'd have noticed I was gone Walking between them and out the door Running hard and crying till my lungs gave out Millions of thoughts running through my head But people are ignorant, And nobody cares It's been three hours now, and nobody's looking The night is calm, quiet and still Except for the girl walking the dark streets alone Silent tears streaming down her cheeks But people are ignorant, And nobody cares A car pulls up, and headlights shine bright A familiar figure steps out of the shadows Across the busy street I run Tears caressing my face and a sob escaping my lips But people are ignorant, And nobody cares I'm wrapped up into a warm embrace And carried to the car The only one who ever cared, And my best friend by far She took me home and calmed me down I let it all go and broke down, piece by piece Recalling it all All the fighting, screaming And now I know who's really my family Not those lying, bickering bastards at home That claim they love me But those who prove it to me And help me in my time of need 'Cause my family's ignorant, but my true friends will always care.
