Mommy Dearest
Mommy for years you have rested, beneath the rich dark earth waiting; waiting to be joined, by a child perhaps. How lonely you must have been all these years, I always thought it would be me; but another may join you soon. I promised to take care of him, on your death bed you begged me; I tried so very hard, but he had ideas wild. He longed for adventure, to see mountains, so he moved away from me; oh, he was so strong willed. But, today I am writing you this letter, and placing it in a violet grape envelope; it was your favorite color, and I will bring your boy home. I promise, he will rest with you among the trees, his name will be engraved; in the stone under yours, mommy. But, perhaps God will give us a miracle, and his life be spared- oh, I am praying; though, he may wish death, for sure he will be different. But, if God should call is name mommy dearest, I will bring him home to you, he will not rest in a place far away.
