Human being and what it means to be human
I find that after living my 81 years of life thus far, I have not a clue as to what it means to be human. I was made greater by not being the common animal that hunts and kills for food, reproduces, and does this daily. No changes in life except that of death. I am considered the higher being. I have intelligence, I am one of many races or species. Yet what does it mean to be human? This is the question? I can answer what I am not: Not a piece of paper, or a machine, or a technical tool. But I can make use of these things in my quest for life's adventures. I function. I am made of flesh and blood. I have been given the language to communicate. I laugh, cry, and get emotional. I sleep 8 or more hours a day. I associate with others like my being. And unlike animals, not a prey to be sought. The concept, I didn't make myself, but was created by one I have not physically seen. I am told He is a God. Not many, but one. I had parents, and I was taught many things, including how to take care of myself and those around me. I have managed to survive many ugly things that happened in the universe. For the many years I have lived, I am told it is a gift. And when I die, I will have a better life - if I have followed the teachings left by the Creator. I am told that I am not guarded by my own instincts, but by a structured plan that was prepared for me before I was born. Yes, I can alter it by freewill, but not entirely, and there are consequences The knowledge I have gained is through living and experiencing changes and events in my life. And that not everyone born has the same chance. You might say: I am lucky. Animals, too, have the same chance of living out their years in long stages. But circumstances change because of human beings and their relationships with the animals. Greed for material things causes that. So far, I have been lucky. What have you learned through this writing? A human being has intelligence, was created, is not an animal or a thing, a metal object, or space. Comes in many racial forms. and has a life span. Each is different and varies according to the plan the Creator made for them. If you are a human one can decipher for yourself if what they have read is true or not. So in conclusion, I have learned that I am a higher being than the animals and less than the Gods. Through freewill, I can make changes to my planned life, but with consequences. I have thoughts and actions that can make changes to what happens to me, but have consequences. And so does every human.
