Beauty Wasted
A visage of perfection, a form divine, Yet, in the pursuit of wealth, your beauty's declined, You've traversed paths of passion, with many a soul, Sleeping with strangers, your beauty's lost its goal. The ones who sought to cherish, to love and to adore, You chased them away, with a heart that yearned for more, You craved the lavish lifestyle, the worldly delight, And in that quest, many used you, and left in the night. Your beauty, a commodity, bartered and sold, A treasure wasted, on fleeting, shallow gold, It seems you don't love yourself, nor value your own worth, For if you did, you'd not surrender to every passing birth. You'd look down on the superficial, and choose with care, You'd put yourself on a pedestal, with dignity to spare, Pride would not be your armor, but a shield to guard your heart, Yet, your beauty's wasted, torn apart. Perhaps, you should have waited, for love that's true and kind, For a union blessed with commitment, a heart that's aligned, But now, you may regret, the choices you've made, And the one who'll marry you, may face a heart that's frayed. Feel sorry for the one, who'll take your hand, And navigate the depths, of a heart that's lost its stand, For in the end, it's not the beauty that will shine, But the love and self-worth, that's truly divine.
