Tears didn’t come when I heard the words so feared They came to my eyes when the smoke had cleared And I remembered that this love I feel inside my heart Is a love that my Savior stirred from the very start Tears weren’t the answer, though they stung my eyes They were the relief from a heart who He baptized The tears told a story of a longing for God’s very best Even though, through this illness, we’re put to the test Tears didn’t come when I first heard the word ‘tumor’ They clung to my soul, leaving the doubtful rumor Only time will tell what Jesus has in store for you and me I know, whatever comes, LOVE has caused me to truly see!
