Holy Diver
Disoriented and departed from passing terra forma, I sink further into the Sea of Tranquility. As corroded chains of my existence dissipate, What once tethered my soul to Gaia's gifts Drifts aimlessly in the abyss of space, Freezing as they pass me by. Shards of ice sparkle like crystals upon their surface— The only illumination against a bitter, lonely backdrop. Without warning, I hear the beeping of my oxygen tank blaring. Looking down, it says less than five percent. Within mere minutes, deprivation will set in. Before I black out completely, The hope of rescue is no longer imminent. It's now time to make peace with all that I regretted. I peer out into infinity, Praying I won't just burn out like a long-forgotten star. It's getting harder to breathe now. I can feel carbon dioxide flood my lungs. Fear courses like waves crashing against the shore. As the needle touches zero, taking in my few last breaths, I separate soul from corporeal form And float amongst endless galaxies.
