A Tale From The Loom - XVI to XX
The lair aglow with brightness now she saw the Dragon clear; Immense in form and stature with a grin from ear to ear; From nose to tail smooth skin of black his fiery eyes alert; He strutted, bristled with a force he knew he could exert. Along his back and legs were studs so diamond-like a-glistening; She saw his beauty in her eyes and spoke her heartfelt feelings; "In truth I had so feared to come but now I am so bold; You are the most enchanting sight my eyes could yet behold. How could it be that nature in her wisdom and her grace; Adorned you with magnificence and a charm not of this place; Command you do my Lord of skies you show a natural might; Your goodness shines like bright lit stars bejewelling the night. Let me take my place beside you and caress my gentle Sir; Let me show you how a Witch can make a mighty Dragon purr" The Dragon laid his head, the Witch set softly to stroking; Instantly he feel asleep and loudly started snoring. And as he slept the Witch amused for she was having fun; She knew the game to win the Dragon had in truth begun; For never could she lose those gifts imbued since the cradle; And not a Dragon's plaything will she be while she is able. The Dragon's sleep was deep and filled with visions of delight, A wispy voice imploring him to "play with me tonight" A Dragon Queen to raise a lust he never thought to know; She proffered beauteous desires he had longed for so. And when at last he did awake so sad a sight was he; The Witch took pains to see him thus, was filled with such pity. "Though I have lost my witching skills some knowledge I possess; There is a place, quite far from here, where fancies are addressed; And scenes of wondrous beauty fill each space your eyes may hold; And you will find that thing you seek within this ideal world; Residing there: sprites, nymphs and sirens all at your behest; But we must hie, surfing high tides put trusty wings to test” She rode him like a stallion but not a burden she; But on sweet winds of ecstasy pure flights of fantasy; And would his mind play visions wild of losses or despair; She bridled him with witching charms to keep at bay all care; But what she knew her senses true this was no mindless beast; She knows he covets a true love, not flesh on which to feast; For magic had revealed to her that thing to make him whole; How he could serve and lead alike accept a master's role.
