A Tale From The Loom - VI to X
She lays the carpet on the floor as though a regal dress; Each loving stitch sewn by her hand displays no sign of stress; The time has come to greet her fate though not a hint of fret; She sits with folded legs her arms are laid across her chest. She waits that witching hour now to speak the charming tones; Her back is straight, her head held high the words by heart she knows; She's now infused with spirits from a time both old and new; She weaves and sways as one in trance and languid speaks the muse. "Hail mighty Nar! Hail gracious Aag! Hail Gobara the great! By Dunkele am I blessed this day, to a marriage make; Hail sweet Atash! Hail bright Oku! Oh Fotia lead the way! To my sweet Handsome will I fly to be a bride this day; And there amongst all natural things, shall I be paired with one; To love and honour for all time until my time is come; A Witch am I since time began, my line as pure as gold; And with this magic pact fulfilled I never shall grow old" "I Dunkele have been summoned forth to guide one to her fate; For on this day as designate a Witch must conjugate: Let gold adorn her wrists and feet, the finest robe be worn; A deep and loving burgundy shall caress her graceful form; Let satin slippers laced with pearls bedeck her gentle feet; And on her brow a diamond crown shall make the Witch replete. Now heed the words I do relate and do not from this stray; Or else a Dragon's dwelling cave will be her lot this day" "The Witch and Handsome once they meet must to a magic spring; Here will they drink and to each one a lover's ballad sing; Then to the fire of Dyanari over which to leap; Unto the woods of Xachimam in nature's bosom deep; Here both fulfilled under the stars their purest form displayed; The moon to bathe their night until the sun shall greet their day; And when their child is come of age she'll leave her parents hearth; To be refined and taught all things to know a Witch's path" She then appears upon the seat envisaged on the loom; Alone she is no head to stroke no handsome future groom; She wondered at what error made, she followed true all said; A troubling, cautious thinking now took root within her head. The voice of Dunkele boomed forth to ease her troubled mind; "The Witches line was compromised by one with axe to grind; Witch Doctor's curse unstitched a verse and left a door ajar; The weakened link was closed too late to stop a lone beggar"
