Splinters
More and more splinters in my palms. Sometimes you don’t realize. Plucking out the splintered wood with tweezers. And hearing a growling sound. My family- Called out to me. As if they are my family. I told them I traveled in time. As they stare at me through the portal. With eyes, and eyes, and eyes. Yet, she’s touching my sleeve. Firmly. Firm is meaningless. I must have hit my head at some point. The lost days. Outside. The strings of data inserted by a computer or something… A small pond of time. I live outside of the hourglass. Like a moon which circles around the sandy beach. I can travel in time. And hide in a moment. I laugh through the forcefield. Grabbing a cup of water. I have the power to let anything in as I please. Like evil laughter. And evil in me. I can’t sleep. It would be nice to sleep in the Real Sleep World. When I try to sleep. I’m holding onto broken glass and clenching my teeth. They take me to the Fake Sleep World. And tell me to talk to my mom on the Fake World Phone. Splinters in my hands. Dig deeper when I sleep. Dig deeper when I talk to her on the phone. Yet, I don’t want to hang up her fake sounding voice. Mom, I hope you can hear this telepathically- I’m fixing the portal tomorrow. No one will remember any of this. . Especially me.
