Storm Song
remember, the scent of hope after the storm, the hurricane who blew in rains, shaming earth so the still floods raged around us, flowing rivers to cover us in pain. remember, the still morning after when time stood, quietly reflecting the night gone, lost like a prayer fading into the skies, heaven stirred by the entreaties from hearts terrified. remember, the silence who melted away all the moments before this devastation rising on the breath of a shadow, dark as the night who is petrified by the whirlwind of breathless anguish. remember, the stars and the moon quietly pouring out their endless truth time might not listen, but the gray that comes to those who see such destruction reveal to us the music of a heart being broken. remember, the night the storm raged covering our mountains in a dread that says wherever we go now, when the rain falls prayers are whispered on the air who stays murky with the downpour of grief. remember, Hurricane Helene and her voice who told each soul that life is more than hope. Life is a color, blue blazing across the night singing her stories, assuring us, in spite of the downpour, there is the trembling faith that still knows… even in this story, there is a God whose love flows down into the spirit of those who know He arose!
