Going Home Ii
Twenty minutes from home---- We are returning home from space, A part of God's creation: a beautiful and awesome place! It's been a great flight for me and six others. Much was accomplished by my astronaut sisters and brothers. Nineteen minutes from home---- Flip the switches; watch the dials; Anticipate our loved ones smiles! I guess by now, we can easily be seen. These shuttle runs have become so routine. Eighteen minutes from home---- I'll be in church tomorrow, with my kids and my wife; Then I'll begin to resume my earth-bound life The computers have us right on course, And we are beginning to feel the gravitational force! Seventeen minutes from home---- A lobster for dinner (maybe I'll devour it whole) Everything's fine because I know God is in control. It will be nice to set foot on earth once again, And be joyously welcomed by our families and friends. Sixteen minutes from home---- Something's wrong! Thank You Lord that You said You would never leave me alone. Oh God! I'm Home! Originally written by me Feb 3,2003 after the Shuttle disaster upon re-entry Charlie Pelota HSLP
