Just Me, Just You
Don’t judge me by the color of my skin, A hue, a shade, just where I begin. My voice may echo through a line unseen, Yet my heart beats strong, vibrant, and keen. Do judge me by my name, a melody rare, By the contours of my face, crafted with care. By the stories etched in laughter and tears, By the woven tapestry of hopes and fears. Don’t tip the scales by the clothes that I wear, Or the curls and the waves that dance with the air. For I am just me as you are just you, In a world that’s rich with colors and views. So, hold your tongue, let kindness prevail, Keep sarcasm locked in a faraway jail. For beneath every surface, the spirit resides, A universe deep where compassion abides. My scars tell of journeys, both bitter and sweet, The battles I've fought, the moments discreet. And though your own burdens might never be shown, We each carry stories that shape how we’ve grown. So close your eyes gently, take a deep breath, Reset your compass, let go of the stress. Awaken anew, with kindness to share, For a better tomorrow starts with care. In this tapestry woven of myriad threads, Let love be the language that softly embeds. For when we see clearly, beyond what’s exterior, We find that our hearts can grow ever nearer.
