Letting go of Butterflies
“Our little precious sugar plum, What has got him feeling glum? What has got our boy so sad? What has got him feeling bad?” No they don’t understand They don’t Why? Why can I not smile? Why does every single thing Just add on to the pile? Well I don’t really know I guess it’s cause you’re gone You moved out of my life And now I’m moving on Hey How are you up there? Hey It’s really not fair There’s nothing I can do I know that much is true But why’d you have to fly? Not even say goodbye? Hey I don’t know what to do Hey I can’t remember you Impressions of a face An aching empty space I don’t care why or how I need to see you now And say I’m sorry And say I’m sorry Now nothing seems so real And I don’t know how to feel But I wish that you stayed All the times we could have made The past has dulled and drained of life Nostalgia cuts me like a knife The sharp sting of regret And a wish to just forget Yet I keep on holding tight Cause I just cannot say goodnight I really wish that you were here But then you had to disappear Hey I’m really not okay Hey Why did you go away Goodbye My little butterfly
