When flames rose, devouring the night sky with tongues of fire, They said her eyes had ignited them, that her gaze burned like a hidden sun, When their ships sank, swallowed by merciless waves, They swore her breath was the wind, a deadly and relentless gust. But she, just a mere mortal, with nothing but her own heart to give, Watched as they painted her as a monster, a demon woven from their fears, Each fear and each failure wearing a mask that wasn't hers. She, a solitary soul caught in the narrative web of a cruel world, Became the symbol of a tragedy that was not hers, a heavy burden. In the flow of her consciousness, a river of thoughts ran endlessly, Like a story told by the wind that embraces the trees melancholically.
