Me as Mom: As Imagined from My Daughter's Perspective
My mom has ailments making it hard for her to clean. She’s never been a great housekeeper anyway. She’s got two cats and a dog, but two of my kids have allergies, so at Mom’s house it’s hard for us to stay! She’s always been obsessed with food and counting calories. I’ve listened to her all my life; she loves to talk about her diets and what’s good to eat (what a know-it-all). But as with anything she likes, she always goes all out! She used to love to decorate for holidays. All her Christmas clutter– for Heaven’s sake! Each Halloween, animated toys she would buy. Like a child, she loves the creepy sounds they make. She loves to have a lot of fun. When we were young, she’d take us to the drive-in, or videos we’d rent. She’d drag us into thrift shops (and still she’s pretty cheap). Just so she could get laps in, to pools we often went. Both Virgos, we’re sensible and love to read and write. We think alike. Though we're outspoken, she’s the calmer one. She’s still teaching part-time, so I don’t see her much, but if her help I need, I know she’ll get it done.
