The Homeless Plight
It breaks my heart to see the sight. Whilst feeling for the homeless plight. It's sad to see in every town. With doorways full, whilst bedding down. While vloggers vlogging have no soul. A life inside the goldfish bowl. We watch for our own entertainment. With people sleeping on the pavement. And why we choose just to ignore. While people sleep in every door. This homeless plight is real life. With individual trouble and strife. There are soup kitchens that give them hope. A life under the microscope. While pushers push with exploitation. There's spice destroying a generation. With governments that turn blind eyes. No help, support, or compromise. And while they sleep between their sheets. There's people dying on these streets. With governments now and governments former. Choose to stick, baby in the corner. How did things ever get to this? They're real people who exist! So rather than just walk on by. We should take the time to just say hi. We should take the time to lend an ear. It can be a lonely place out here. The homeless plight, can I allude? That people change their attitude. We observe their plight, yet from a distance. And make assumptions. In an instant. Behind each life, there is a story. Just take the time to listen warmly. Just take the time it might surprise. That there's a life behind those eyes. We live in the hope that things will change. A home for all. Is this so strange? But whilst we just turn up our nose. The homeless plight, it never goes.
