Fondest Memory
From the yonder hazy horizon, the hills tinged blue undulated down the emerald luxuriant landscape in rhapsodic rhythmic waves that rolled into my view. Its contours carved for my hamlet its serene shape, where once was cradled my endearing home in the bounty of beguiling nature that made me agape. The fairy flotilla of the cotton clouds I would see roam, make a mesmeric celestial panorama framed high upon the curved canvas of the cerulean dome. With the serenading wind whistling in sapphire sky, my childhood ebullience soared to a great height, following the trail of the colorful kites I loved to fly. A silvery stream glided with the sparkle of delight, surging with the shimmering allure of liquid pearls, flowed with the flamboyant façade ever so bright. On its rippling water fringing the gentle whirl, I sailed paper boats tinted with the rainbow colors, and saw these glide wobbling in the current’s curl. To a distant fantasy land, waiting where I didn’t know, I imagined entranced by the charm of infantile dreams, on these boats my mariner mind would someday go. From obscurity all these boats and kites I can’t redeem, for in twilight zone with dust of time they’ve disappeared beyond the horizon that is sinking in the dusky gleam. The fondest childhood memory hasn’t yet deserted me, in the glitter of sunset hours the child in me I still see.
