Under the Mountain
you never saw me when i was itching at the sky for answers that were never there, opening all of the gates and all of the pits beyond the Valley of Death, still stinking with brim, and hot brine just to clear my grocery list, you never looked for me when i was in the vine looking for the sun hiding from the tigers catching opportunities from the sky like Zack Wheeler throwing a Durian at my nose of course, you could never find me you were looking for the one on top of those diamond peaks carved by an individual with grit and determination, just to leap on top of it in a single bound but as you can see, I was right under it the whole time, under the umptillion pounds of everything i’ve worked for aimlessly itching and itching for all of that fast-twitch piston-power because no mountain will ever be big enough if you can climb it and suffer to take another breath of life, without becoming Death itself and of course you won’t be there when I tear it all down again because the first second of eternity is sweeped away with every swat of the hands in my watch becoming a persistent memory under 1000 degrees of heat a persistent memory of a time that will never come but you wouldn’t know because you waste time all the time and make the least of it when it counts the most you couldn’t give less of a damn what my problem is so don’t even bother to ask just look up and climb around it look for someone who needs your help and try not to think about it too much pretending to care gets you nowhere so walk up or walk away
