Seeing my hideous image, I felt the need to change, Change into a new being… that’s what I so desired. With a heart aflame and a conscience revived, I vowed to rise and leave my past behind. I fought hard to cut down the chains of habit, That held me tight and kept me a prisoner. Determined I was to claim my ground at every step, And turn my back on the shadows that creep.
