The Faces of Jesus
The shepherds whom the angels told, of Jesus’ birth foretold of old, made haste and found the humble place and saw the Savior’s serene face. One stormy night in a small boat which sailors doubt would stay afloat, the Savior found a resting place and wore in sleep that serene face. Upon a mount, the chosen three beheld a scene that weakened knee. And in that hallowed, sacred space, they saw their Master’s shining face. When merchants, of God’s Temple made, a marketplace to ply their trade. Jesus was wroth and did them chase out of God’s house with a stern face. And as He in the garden prayed, in agony His body swayed. The weight of sin from Adam’s race sorrowed His heart, saddened His face. When Jesus comes to take us home we’ll rise with Him pass heaven’s dome, as trophies of His saving grace we will behold His smiling face.
