Guillotine
There it is displayed for all that are in the wrong, bowing their heads in shame because they know one day there time will come That there they will be lying with their head on display, eyes bulging out of their sockets trying to foresee a way A way to beat the system, a way to dull the vengeful blade, but the grooves are sharpened immensely in preparation for this day Heads are going to roll and maybe a few will bow, will that make you want to stand up and admit to the truth that you’re really not so happy now You should be in my position watching your life flash before your very eyes, knowing that death is coming calling your name and it is going to take you for one hell of a ride Surrounded by masked men too ashamed or scared to show their face, although they care not to destroy mine and hack it off with the cascading of the blade And below me sits a wicker basket to catch the epitome of me, the piece that connected all that I am to the rest, the piece that allowed me to breathe This apparatus is my executioner, and I must pay my dues, the time has come to end a life that was only broken and abused I try to untangle my hands and head from the pillory they have enclosed me in, but the beheading is coming like a lovers embrace steel intertwining with skin.
