Though they never shared the stage I had won the front row seat, And though I knew all the words I could not stay with the beat Balloons were flying above, patrons danced upon the lawn; A drunkard was ejected by a big bouncer named Shaun. The girls wore bikinis, they were ahead of their time; All the guys had suits and ties and they looked the same as mine. The basketball game's over, not a single score now counts; Someone poked the old game ball and it will no longer bounce. Cheerleaders left their pom poms spread across the whole gym floor, But they're going nowhere now, snow had blocked tight the front door. Suddenly rain's coming down, this tub is filling up fast, And because I cannot swim I don't think I'm gonna last. I pulled the plug from the bath, was just hoping for release; Ended up caught in the stream with ten ducks and twenty geese. The mayor skipped out of town in his flashy, red stingray, And riding along with him was the preacher's wife, Ms May. Sheriff said he'd bring them back and would return before dark; He declared that the lynching would take place in the town's park. Without warning I awoke from this nightmare of a dream; It felt like I had been hung from this bedroom's big oak beam. An hour on the toilet brought me into morning's light, I have learned my lesson well: no more Mexican at night!
