Mt Blanca
trademark green on white "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" me and the Sangre De Cristos march across the border and Mt Blanca rises to greet us smooth and elegant as a wedding cake draped with fondant majestic and proud above the clouds in my heart she strikes the home chord deeper than the tourist town I dip in and out of it's home-base she's my home I don't live anywhere anymore anyway but for a couple of months to babysit a kitten and a pup I'll breath thin air on Pikes Peak pan gold on Cripple Creek celebrate my aunt's 90th reunite with my cousins hike some woods energize my soul smile and be free from strange longings titilatations that don't quite satisfy dear home you raised, educated initiated and launched me into this frenzy yearning and hurting I return kinder than my first love and fairer than my last your bosom buries my sorrow no shame nor defeat do I suffer in you just wounds enough to be made whole preciosa Mt. Blanca your wedding dress slips down bare shoulders dripping rivers and creeks refresh and sustain me in this odyssey love swirls about sunning herself up around a bend gazing from the top of some forgotten trail singing love songs in a honky tonk or pouring coffee in some route 66 diner she's the loveliest sweetest icing on this cake Pikes Peak Cripple Creek and my ninety year old dear Auntie que' guapa Mt Blanca ;)
