growing up
Sometimes I wonder, what is it like to be an adult? To live alone, to work, to reach 18? To get your driver's license, to cook in your own apartment. To earn money or to spend from your savings. The world of adults seems so different from mine as a teenager, Will I hit a wall head-on when I reach it? What is it like to be an adult? They make me choose now what to study, then go to university. But who helps me choose what kind of person I want to be, How to reach maturity or how to be a good adult? Are adults just children in adult bodies? Do you change forever? In the labyrinth of adulthood, we wander, Navigating the twists and turns of responsibility, Each decision a brick in the path we tread, A path that stretches out before us, unknown. We long for the freedom adulthood promises, To stand on our own, to carve our own destiny, Yet with freedom comes the weight of choice, And the fear of stumbling in the dark. Do we ever truly grow up, Or are we forever children, just wearing older faces? In the mirror, we search for answers, But all we find are more questions. What does it mean to be an adult? To shoulder the burdens of the world, To chase dreams or simply survive, To find our place in this vast, chaotic universe. Perhaps adulthood is not a destination, But a journey, ever-evolving, A dance between who we are and who we strive to be, A constant metamorphosis of the soul. So let us embrace the uncertainty, And step boldly into the unknown, For in the depths of our questions, Lies the beauty of our humanity.
