I Tried To Find You
I tried to find you, Tried, tried, tried to find you. But you’re hiding from yourself, Behind a wall of bricks that seem So, so, so Unbreakable Making it impossible to see you. For who you really are. You’re afraid of letting go, Of the past. And moving on to fast. Holding on to memories Good and bad, Is what you like to do. Making it impossible, For me to find you. I tried to find you. Tried, tried, tried to find you. But you’re holding on to excuses. Pointless excuses, Redundant excuses, Excuses that are holding you back, And not taking you, To where you want to be. I tried to find you. Tried, tried, tried to find you. But only you, Have the powers to reach, Deep, deep, deep Down into the darkness, And pull yourself out of the rut, That you have built for yourself, Over the years. Only you can break through the bricks, That feel like stone, And become who I know you are. I tried to find you, Tried, tried, tried to find you. But you’re hiding from yourself. And I question if you will ever truly find yourself.
