Her fond memories frozen - II
And flashes of that fond love often fire A silver-lined dawn’s see-through, lucid dream, Radiant flames of heart-felt young desire Leap to burn bright and in no time turn grim, And prompting my pallid pride to perish, My swollen Self dashes down to dwindle, Threads of hope still float against flow as fish, What a dawn's dream my heart to rekindle! No, hers was not at all a casual look, As showed her pair of deeply probing eyes, Nor was the look so blank to be random, A girlie plank, nor was it a surprise, Not whatsoever happens shorn of cause, Naught walks in like Indian guest at odd hour, Today it’s still a deeply buried past, Some things stay lost in life yon recover. Some moments often fleet by in a click And leave the heart to brood, lifetime to long In a world of ‘what if' ere wisdom dawns, Memories of youth perplex like old song, And ere long all things impair from their prime, Take magnetic tapes, take music records, Some memories are writ on sands of time, But seldom those that touch soul's deepest cords. And our lives do unfold as Destiny Dances nigh like a well-choreographed dance, The unseen director above, decides, And we actors know nothing in advance. We dwell on the pied past for all our life, We all in life have an eternal muse, If we care to listen, her voice is rife, Not poets lone, we all lean on her dues. I count my blessings for fond memories, Doomed to have lost, and still gained all her heart, She too might be brooding, she loved and lost, And here are we pulled by our fate apart. It were not us per chance stealing glances, But our fate conspiring to pull away, To leave behind a few moments in freeze, O to hope hereafter to have more say. ________________________________________ Musings | 02.08.2011 | memories
