A Spring Sonata
After the misty snow, with the sun’s Aurelian caress, Men get out of their homes to feel the kiss of the early beams The air is now resonant with avian chatter. Jungles echo the joys of untrammelled life, As birds and animals have reclaimed their space There is a newness as sprouts appear on every tree. Daffodils and tulips push through the crust of the earth. Their delicate petals unfold one by one, As the breeze at dawn nudges them flirtatiously. Fields of wildflowers stretch endlessly. Oh, what a beatific lovely sight! Verdant leaves flutter in sweet murmurs Which can be heard only by attentive ears. The wind too sings a sweet serenade. The creek that flows down the hill with grace Makes a sweet dulcet sound. A chant builds amid the wavelets of the stream. Life comes alive as musical incantations flow out, From the open beaks of the cuckoo and the thrush. Do you hear as I do the serenade of nature? The warbling of birds, the murmur of winds The babbling of the brooks, the sound of the soft landing Of delicate dew drops on the stretching meadows. As I listen to the symphonies of lovesome spring My soul dances like a dew drop on a rose petal.
