The Bridge of the Morning Star
To rest awhile In my Moondust’s arms In a meadow of flowers A shady tree Watching her smile I wove star flowers In to her hair She wove me into her heart Never such love, so rare Could be In a meadow of flowers We talked and sang Until the sun set low Fires lit, in reds and golds Of loves’ glow We slept In blue wool and silver stars Amongst its’ folds The first bird called to me I looked up Saw the first morning star Shining steadily Across the meadow Above the trees The early light Caught the flash Of the birds’ wing in flight I woke my Moondust Across the meadow Is the way The bird showed me In its’ flight Guiding us today We walked through The flowers of the meadow Moondusts’ horse followed behind In that early sunglow The rush of water could be heard from afar The meadow ended too soon The stream could be soon Upon it….. The Bridge of the Morning Star Of ancient oak tree Carved with magical hands Its’ trusses carved with birds On each rail, silver stars were inlaid A beautiful canopy of redwood Completed this crossing Carved on it, ancient words “The Morning Star” The bridge of The Morning Star As soon as the sun rose Like The Morning Star The bridge faded too In the coming of daylight
