They're cashing in on our misery By making us go in circles While they keep promising to deliver On nothing cause nothing they've said holds water They're cashing on our desperation As all we can do is watch Then they'll come back to tell us That five years wasn't enough they want more They know which buttons to push While they tell us that we should too We've been pushing the same buttons But how will they work if they control the system But what works in this system Cause the rot has caught up everywhere It's moved from their greedy selves Now they want to cripple what was even working I wonder what blinds us every election year For we keep being blinded by the blind Cause seemingly they also don't see our suffering How then can we correct it if we also the problem The PO£T
