Fair Weather Lover
I once thought that you were my true love, my Prince Charming, my everything, but I found out sadly you’re just like all the rest with a spirit so cruel, and mean You came in riding on a cloud like a breath of fresh, crisp air, and you rained your sunshine down on me and I honestly believed that you cared You built my hopes up, you planted roots inside of my dreams, and you vowed to make them all come true, by any and all means No one could touch your light that shined brighter than the sun, but oh how you could run and hide when the storms would come You were like the old saying of a fair-weather friend, but you were more than that to me you were my beginning and my never end You proved to me where your loyalties they did lie, and it wasn’t here in my green field of flowers that wilted away from all of your lies When the rain came pouring down upon us you told me that the water it just got too deep, and I understood what is was that you were saying, you’re time with me was over, you were done and spent So fair weather lover it just became too dark, too real here for you to stay, you have shown me that you are not the man I thought you were, when trouble swoops in, you blow away.
