You opened up the door to my dim crestfallen heart Once you stepped inside, the door slammed on you, no longer apart The dreary atmosphere tightened its arms around you Aching for something to brighten the corners of my mind You were the first to enter my desolate land It was barren and bare, a desert of sand Yet you still bent down and let the granules fall between your fingers The resigned architecture within me, I'm writing myself an elegy Antithesis to my desert, a shadow of clouds casts over you, it lingers Foreboding the future you're in for, I was unaware of this tendency You didn't know exactly where you need to be You asked for directions from Descartes He directed you across the forsaken land You traversed for me, one of your counterparts I wish my door had a lock Maybe I should have answered it when I heard your knock I let you straight in, unbeknownst to you who you are I'd never dream for you to be someone I saw, my forbidden star You left my heart dreary, yearning You took advantage of me, undiscerning You made me want to learn the guitar I'd be your artist for a pourboire But you pulled at my heart's strings causing them to depart Please help me put them back together, this wasn't in my compart You opened up the door to my dim crestfallen heart I wish I had never let you in, I wish I could forget everything I want to hate you Please let me hate you
