I'd wish an enemy no ill-will, nor find fault with his or her flaws, faults or their railing. If I did, I would be the one whose mercy is failing. Forgiveness is granted only when the askance is spoken. It must be conveyed, not kept a thought, a mere token. For how could anyone know of the leniency of the virtue if it remains unspoken, hidden in aubergine shadows? For absolution to be offered, forgiveness we must disclose.
