Apparently, the worst thing to possibly do is try to jog the patient's memory, as it causes more stress. Instead, why not give them your time and play their favourite music? Music memories often remain as others disappear. This is because brain regions involved in musical memory and processing (e.g., the cerebellum) are not as affected by Alzheimer's or dementia until much later in the disease course.
