GROUNDED
GROUNDED I think it’s going to rain dear, Called Mrs. C from the door. Ho ho ho, said Santa, I’ve heard that joke before. Tomorrow is my big day. It’s Christmas Eve you know. I’ve heard the weather forecast And of course it’s going to snow. I’m setting off a day early this time Or I’ll get there late I fear. The reindeer are getting past their prime And struggle more each year Comet can’t shoot across the sky And Vixen’s even slower. Dasher can barely get off the ground And Cupid’s aim’s getting lower. Dunder can’t thunder through the air.. Poor Dancer can no longer dance. Blitzen no longer lights up the sky While Prancer can no longer prance Even Rudolph’s light is fading; No longer a shiny nose. And, if you ever saw it, You wouldn’t say it glows I’m afraid they’re no longer able To pull the loaded sled. So next year I’m putting them out to grass And going electric instead
