Special Friendships
Along life’s path, of many fine things, Special friendships appear, without any strings. They satisfy voids, fill in our gaps, When love has turned stale, and loving collapsed. Messy— is a word that describes love the best, Clandestine at times, even secretive quests. All for mere moments of splendor & bliss, The deep rooted pleasure, of a deep rooted kiss. Love isn’t fair, and neither is life, When fire is extinguished, by husband or wife. Keep ears to the ground, there’s rumbling nearby, A likewise sad & lonely, gal or a guy. The short time we’re here, pleasure & pain, Love should be easy—an effortless campaign. But when it turns sour, whatever the reason, Special friendships appear, to cope with the season. No time for guilt, no time for shame, Life is too short, we should have but one aim. To love and be loved, one in the same, Just kiss me my love, I’ll assume all the blame!
